Pro Bono Volunteer of the Month-December 2019
Lynn Conant of Lynn’s Law
Law is Lynn’s second career. She received her Juris Doctorate from Chapman University in 2002 and has been practicing family law ever since.
While in law school, Lynn often heard about the “grant of power” that the state gives a lawyer and felt the need to give back to her community. She said she decided to become involved with providing pro bono services through Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada because “Legal Aid does a tremendous amount of work providing help for those who are bold enough to represent themselves, a major contributor to ‘access to justice’ and provides uniform information for both litigants and members of the bar. I have a difficult time saying ‘no’ when someone needs help.” “I bristle when one party is represented by an attorney and another is not. The playing field is not level. I like to help level the playing field.
Lynn has been a great volunteer for the Pro Bono Project. She has graciously volunteered to assist with 15 family law matters and volunteers for the Family Law Ask-A-Lawyer program.
For her commitment to pro bono, we honor Lynn as our December Volunteer of the Month.
