Pro Bono Volunteer of the Month-November 2018
Carlos Morales
Carlos Morales received both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from UNLV. Carlos currently practices family law with the Willick Law Group which is where he first became involved with pro bono services through the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. In 2016, Carlos had his first pro bono client who was also his first client ever. The client had been abandoned with no contacts in Las Vegas. She was living in a women’s shelter and over the course of a year, he was able to help her through her divorce and reunite her with her children.
When we asked Carlos why he does pro bono work, he responded “My belief is that attorneys, regardless of our backgrounds, have the unique ability to make a lasting impact in the communities we live in. Pro bono legal work is my way of serving the Las Vegas community.”
Since his first case, Carlos has become a key volunteer for the Pro Bono Project. He actively participates in the Family Law Ask-A-Lawyer, Veterans Ask-A-Lawyer, represents family law clients and recently took on his first CAP case.
For his commitment to pro bono, we honor Carlos Morales as our November Volunteer of the Month.
