Judge Sunny Bailey of the Nevada 8th Judicial District Court will share insights from the bench and provide practical tips when preparing for trial. The CLE will cover trial preparation, motions in limine, admitting evidence, and dealing with objections.
Special Immigrant Juvenile Status 101

This CLE course will provide training on how to handle a Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) pro bono case, including an overview of the SIJS process for Nevada applicants and the steps to take after an individual is granted SIJS.
Introduction to Representing Children in Abuse & Neglect Cases
Learn how to effectively represent abused and neglected foster care children

In Nevada, children are parties to an abuse/neglect case brought by a child welfare agency; under Nevada law, those children have a right to representation by an attorney. This class is an introduction to effectively representing children in foster care. Attendees learn how to establish an attorney/client relationship with clients of all ages. The class also provides an overview of the child welfare system and the life of an abuse/neglect case. Lastly, the class touches upon common issues, including sibling connections, mental health, and delayed permanency.
Basics of Military Parole in Place & Adjustment of Status

The training will cover how to determine eligibility, how to request an individual’s immigration history, and the requirements to process with USCIS. There will also be training on how to proceed after the Parole in Place has been granted.
