An 11-year old girl has recently come into the care of Clark County Family Services (CCFS) due to reports of neglect and physical risk. CCFS was alerted to the situation following allegations of sexual assault from the paternal caregiver to one of the child’s older siblings. The caregiver had been convicted of previous sexual abuse against another minor and is a registered sex offender. Despite this, the mother remains in close contact with the abuser and allows him access to the residence and exposure to the children. The sibling who is identified as the target of these repeated sexual assaults is currently being represented by separate counsel in the same matter; however, this child is in need of an attorney to represent her legal wishes and rights. The next hearing is on January 15th, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom 11.
