A sibling pair consisting of a 7-year old child and 1-year old baby is currently in the custody of Clark County Family Services due to emotional neglect, parental drug use, and severe domestic violence. Both parents demonstrate an extensive history of drug abuse– multiple reports have noted their tendency to dispose of drug paraphernalia in indiscreet locations– and both parents have charges of possession of illegal substances on their criminal record. The mother, who is currently incarcerated for domestic violence charges, regularly engages in acts of violence in front of her children.  Both caregivers  lack parenting knowledge, skills, and motivation, which affects their children’s safety.  These children are in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes. The next hearing is on January 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 13.
