In Abuse/Neglect Cases - Children's Attorneys Project

Two sisters, a 6-year old child and a 5-month old infant, have been removed from parental custody and placed into the care of Clark County Family Services (CCFS) due to allegations of physical risk and abuse. The parents of these children have an extensive prior record of unfit behavior, including substance abuse, neglect, and criminality. There are recorded instances of physical abuse occurring within the household, mainly perpetrated by the children’s stepfather. This abuse has been observed to severely disrupt the children’s emotional well-being. Additionally, the eldest child, who is currently represented by separate counsel, has alleged sexual assault by the stepfather. It is also indicated that these children’s educational resources are compromised due to parental apathy, resulting in a series of truancies. This sibling pair originates from a larger group of five siblings.  These two sisters require an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights, the next hearing is on June 4th, 2025 in Courtroom 11.
