In Abuse/Neglect Cases - Children's Attorneys Project

A newborn infant is currently in the care of Clark County Family Services (CCFS) due to multiple concerns of both physical neglect and risk perpetrated by the infant’s parent. The mother admitted to self-administering illicit substances throughout the pregnancy, even stating that she used these substances on the day of her infant baby’s birth. Born substance-dependent, this vulnerable infant battles several withdrawal symptoms and requires intensive medical care. The mother has had a previous child removed by CCFS in a separate closed case and now poses an immediate danger to her newest child’s safety and well-being. This newborn baby requires an attorney to advocate for her rights; the next hearing is to be determined and will take place in Courtroom 13.
