A one-year old infant is currently in custody of CCFS (Clark County Family Services) due to accounts of parental neglect, inadequate supervision, and physical injury. The mother of this infant experiences severe mental health episodes that pose serious risk of harm to the infant, these episodes most prominently surface as auditory hallucinations that prompt the mother to abandon the child. The most recent incident, which alerted CCFS to the situation, resulted from reports of the mother attempting to discard the child in a trash receptacle in a public alleyway. This vulnerable infant requires an attorney to represent their legal rights as to permanency, placement, and visitation; and to ensure appropriate services are in place. The next hearing is scheduled for November 21st, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
