Two sisters, an 18-year-old and 15-year-old, came into custody of The Department of Family Services (DFS) with their sibling group consisting of five other children. The children were removed due to allegations against the natural mother and stepfather posing both physical risk and injury to the subject minors. DFS notes ongoing concerns of domestic violence taking place in the family’s residence. The two sisters have since been placed with their natural father across state lines. At this time, the two sisters require an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. The next hearing is a Disposition Hearing on 10/15/2024 at 10:00 a.m., Courtroom 6.
