In Abuse/Neglect Cases - Children's Attorneys Project

A 12-year old boy came into Clark County Family Services (CCFS) custody due to reports of inadequate supervision. CCFS was alerted to the situation when the mother of this child, who suffers from several untreated mental health conditions, left this vulnerable child unattended for a week during her out-of-state travels. Additionally, the mother, who acts as the child’s primary caregiver, is unable to provide the necessary resources for her child’s wellbeing– it was discovered that the mother is faces eviction and subsequent housing insecurity. At this time, this boy is in need of an attorney to represent his legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place.  The next hearing is scheduled for March 18th, 2024 at 2:15 a.m. in Courtroom 11.
