A-newborn baby girl came into DFS custody due to the parent’s health mental disorders.  Both parents have history with the Department as child victims and both have serious and severe mental health issues which are not being treated or managed.  There are also incidents of domestic violence where the father has strangled and hit the mom with a bat and chain.  It is also reported that the father traffics this 17-year old mother.  The mother lacks the protective capacity to protect her newborn baby by returning to the relationship despite the fact that he traffics and physically abuses her.  At this time, this this newborn girl is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, and visitation and to ensure appropriate services  are in place.  Next Hearing(s): Disposition Hearing (Mother) on 06/20/2023 at 1:30 pm and on 06/27/2023 at 10:00 am (Father) in Courtroom 12.
