A 4-month old baby boy came into DFS custody due to the mother being in protective custody herself. The father is currently residing with adults who are not appropriate at this time. Both parents are teen parents without a stable adult in their life to help them support and raise their child. The mother has been diagnosed with FAS and there are concerns she may have autism and or post-partum depression. The parent’s maturity level due to their young age and emotional stability play a role in their ability to provide care for their son. They are both unable to financially support themselves or their baby and lack all the resources. At this time, this infant boy is in need of an attorney to represent his legal wishes and rights are to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. Next Hearing(s): Termination of Parental Rights Trial on 07/17/2023 at 1:30 pm in Courtroom 10.
