A newborn baby girl was removed by DFS due to the mother being under the influence of illegal drugs and alcohol, which compromised her ability to care for minor. The mother was placed on a Legal 2000 hold as she was high on methamphetamines and having a mental health episode. While in the hospital, the mother gave birth to baby girl. The mother tested positive for methamphetamines and marijuana in her urine. The mother reported she is homeless and does not want any assistance from DFS. Her parental rights were involuntarily terminated by Court order as to other minor. The putative father has not established paternity and his whereabouts are unknown. At this time, this infant girl is in need of an attorney to represent her legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place.
