In Abuse/Neglect Cases - Children's Attorneys Project

A group of three siblings ages 15, 13-year old, and 10-years old, are currently in custody of Clark County Family Services (CCFS) due to reports of ongoing physical abuse, emotional neglect, and lack of resources. This family has an extensive history of departmental intervention, as the mother has been cited to experience multiple difficulties which hinder her ability to care for her children. Homelessness and substance abuse, coupled with multiple allegations of violent behavior, have resulted in the mother’s guardianship being terminated. The father of these children has been identified as an unsuitable caretaker due to multiple prior criminal convictions. At this time, these siblings are in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. The next hearing is on February 18th, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom 12.
