Two girl siblings ages 8-year old and 4-month old came into DFS custody due to allegations of abuse, emotional neglect, parental drug and alcohol use and domestic violence.  Mother fails the capacity to protect the minor children.  On a recent incident, the mother and one of the fathers were involved in a violent deadly incident where a gun was used and both children were present. The mother continues to protect the father, who is the alleged murdered on the incident.  She lacks the capacity to protect her children and puts her needs before them.  As such, these two girls are in need attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, and visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place.  Next hearing(s): Disposition Hearing on 03/28/2023 at 1:30 pm and Adjudicatory Trial on 04/17/2023 at 1:30 pm in Courtroom 12.
