An inmate at Northern Nevada Correctional Center suffers from muscle atrophy, arthritis to his left knee, and back pain. Despite this, he was assigned a top bunk which is painful and difficult to get in and out of. He also alleges the facility is not habitable. He complains that there is no fire sprinkler systems, the vents and ceiling materials may contain asbestos, there may be black mold, and there is no hot water. He asserts the facility also has inadequate heating and cooling that make conditions uncomfortable. He believes there is a lack of constant supervision. He claims he does not receive quality dental or mental health care. As a result, he filed a civil rights complaint and is seeking representation through the Federal Pro Bono Program. Next Deadline(s): Jury Trial set for 7/10/23 at 09:00 AM.
