Sibling group ages 12 year old, 9 year old, and newborn boy came into DFS custody due to allegations of improper care and supervision. The mother has a history of drug abuse, and she has admitted to daily use of fentanyl throughout her pregnancy with newborn baby boy. Newborn tested positive for opiates and amphetamines at the time of birth. The mother also lacks the safe and stable housing, income and employment to provide for the basic needs of the children. The father is incarcerated with charges of Murder and attempt murder and is considered inappropriate to care for the children because of his arrest for crimes related to violent behaviors, creating an impending danger for the minor children. These children are in need of an attorney to represent their wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, and visitation and to ensure appropriate services, including educational services, are in place. Next Hearing(s): Review Hearing on 02/28/2023 at 3:00 p.m., in Courtroom 11.
