In 2019, a 14-year-old girl came into care because her legal mother refused to pick her up when she was discharged from the hospital. She is now 17 years old. The legal mother has not had contact with the client since 2019. Her father has had minimal communication with the teenager and has expressed no real interest in her. Her biological mother lives in California. The teen visited her a couple times and they were in family therapy but they no longer are. She has no interest in living with her biological mother. She has an IEP, but is not attending school at this time. She is on runaway status and is now living with people she met while staying at a homeless youth center in Arizona. She will sign Voluntary Jurisdiction paperwork before she turns 18 and plans to ask to exit care when she turns 18 in November. At this time, this teen is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, and visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. Next Hearing(s): Review Hearing on 11/29/2022 at 2:00 pm in Courtroom 12.
