A two-year old baby boy is currently in custody of Clark County Family Services (CCFS) due to allegations of physical risk and neglect. The mother of this child tested positive for multiple illicit drugs and was reported as using these substances throughout the duration of her pregnancy. Consequently, the child was born substance-dependent and experienced withdrawal symptoms upon delivery. The mother has another open case with the Department due to substance abuse, domestic violence, and housing insecurity. She has failed to submit to regular required drug-testing and has made minimal progress toward behavioral change. This baby needs an attorney to represent his legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. The next hearing is on April 8th, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 7.
