Mohammad worked for the U.S. Military at the Department of State Annex in the anti-terrorism unit as a Special Forces Soldier for approximately four years, until the Taliban took over. He and his wife fled Afghanistan and were paroled into the U.S. on 9/1/2021 because they feared they would be targeted by the Taliban because of his work with the U.S. military. They have valid employment authorization documents. He submitted a petition for Chief of Mission for the Special Immigrant Visa on November 6, 2021 and it is currently pending. This client is in need of an attorney to assess his case and represent him through the asylum process, submit a TPS application, and anything else the attorney deems appropriate. Applicant speaks Dari and a volunteer interpreter is available through the Volunteer Interpreter Project upon request. Asylum Request Deadline: September 1, 2022.
