A 1-year-old girl came into DFS care on or about March 22, 2022 after she was recovered from a tent where she was living with her parents on the streets of Las Vegas. They were homeless and her parents reportedly use drugs and alcohol daily. In addition, her mother has mental health issues that have not been addressed. Her mother was arrested at the time of removal after trying to bite a law enforcement officer and banging her legs and body against the patrol car. The father attempted to run with the child to avoid the removal. There is also a history of domestic violence between the parents and with others in their previous home in the presence of the little girl. The father also has a criminal history involving violent crime. At this time, the child is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. Next hearing(s): Disposition Hearing on 6/9/2022 at 1:00 pm and Review Hearing on 9/8/2022 at 3:30 pm in Courtroom 12.
