After their father struck the oldest child with an open fist, a 6-year-old and a 5-year-old came into DFS care. The father struck the 6-year-old boy near his left eye and his temple leaving a reddish bruise. He was arrested for the incident and later convicted of gross misdemeanor Child Abuse, Neglect, or Endangerment and incarcerated for 6 months with 30 days credit for time served. Their mother’s whereabouts are unknown. At this time, these children are in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. Next Hearing(s): Review Hearing on 06/13/2023 at 2:00 pm in Courtroom 10.
