A 13-year-old girl, 8-year-old girl, and 6-year-old girl went into DFS care on October 24, 2019 with their two other sisters because their father was violent with their mother in their home. Their father was initially arrested for domestic violence in 2017 but the charges were dismissed when their mother failed to appear at time of trial. She states that she wanted to give him another chance. Their mother stated that they had been out on a date and when they returned things happened fast and she could not clearly recall what happened. The 13-year-old, the oldest minor child, reported that she heard them arguing in their room and went to investigate. She reported she saw her father choking her mother and ramming her head into a wall. These young girls are in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. Next hearing(s): Status Check on 10/26/2021 at 11:00 am; Review Hearing on 04/12/2022 at 2:15 pm in Courtroom 11.
