As a result of his guardian being unable to care for him and his siblings, a 16-year-old boy came into DFS care in June 2021. His mother reports that she is not stable and is unable to care for the children. The father did not complete his case plan in the prior case when the Department was involved due to a substantiated abuse case. There was also a “no contact” agreement in which the father agreed not to have contact with the children. The children are currently staying separately with relatives. This teenager is in need of an attorney to represent his legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. Next Hearing(s): Review Hearing on 12/15/2021 at 2:00 pm and Adjudicatory Trial on 01/06/2022 at 2:00 pm in Courtroom 13.
