In Children's Attorneys Project (Abuse/Neglect Cases)

Siblings ages 11 and 8 years old came into DFS care on March 2, 2021 based upon concerns of a registered sex offender residing in the home, the children not being currently enrolled in school and the possible current use of methamphetamine by mother.  16 year old sibling  reported, after removal, that she was “addicted to methamphetamine” and wanted to hurt herself. She reported that she was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety and Body Dysmorphia; that she had been hospitalized twice at Seven Hills for mental health issues. She reported that mother’s boyfriend got her mother hooked on methamphetamine and that she is actively using. Mother reported to the Court that minor is on a waiting list at Willow Springs for residential care. Older minor is being represented by CAP attorney.  Next hearings are; Calendar Call on 4/14/2021 10:15 am; Adjudicatory Trial on 5/24/2021 at 1:30 pm in Courtroom 11.
