A 15-year-old boy came into DFS care on December 31, 2020 due to an ongoing history of domestic violence between him, his mother, and his sibling. He was taken to Human Behavior Institute (HBI) but was later discharged because there was no psychiatric need for hospitalization. His mother refused to pick him up because she feared he would either kill her and his siblings or would harm himself. When he was returned home, she had him transported back to HBI with the same outcome. He has expressed anxiety about going home, stating that he would kill his mother and/or harm himself. Family relatives have reportedly refused to take custody of the minor child. As a result, he is in need of an attorney to represent his legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. Next Hearing(s): Review Hearing 6/8/22 at 2:15 pm in Courtroom 11.
