CPS removed 2 month old baby girl from her parents’ care and placed her with her paternal grandmother over concerns of her parents’ protective capacity. Client’s father showed up at a 7-Eleven, asking the store clerk to call police because he was homeless and couldn’t care for the baby. Upon Metro’s arrival, the father denied doing any of that and claimed to live nearby. Metro and CPS could not verify that the father had a home; father was showing signs of impairment during the interaction. The father also provided the wrong name for the mother, but Metro was able to get the correct name by calling the hospital where client was born. When CPS finally located the baby’s mother, the mother agreed that the grandmother was the best person to care for the baby. Next hearing is a Review Hearing on 5/35/2021 at 2:00 pm in Courtroom 6.
