13 year old girl came into DFS care on November 6, 2020. The minor child has been hospitalized 28 times in the past 24 months with most hospitalizations being for more than 30 days. Although treatment plans have been provided upon each hospital discharge mother has not followed the plans. The child will not eat and the G-tube needed to provide her with nutrition is clogged. Psychiatric evaluation of the child’s self-injurious behavior has recommended inpatient psychiatric services. Natural mother has admitted her inability to care for the child. She had a meeting scheduled with the medical/psychiatric staff doctors but failed to attend the meeting. She has refused to authorize long-term treatment (minimum of 6 months) recommended by the hospital specialists. Mother disputes the accuracy of the information from UMC and states that her daughter was previously a patient at Care Meridian and she stated the quality of care was poor and would not authorize placement of the child in that facility. Next hearing is an Adjudicatory Trial on 1/29/2021 at 9:30 am in Courtroom 11.
