This is a conflict case and requires a pro bono attorney. This child and his sister (represented by a staff attorney) came into DFS care on October 19, 2019 due to adoptive parents refusing to care for the sister any longer. This child remains placed with adoptive parents, however the Department is insisting that he remain a ward of the state and part of the case. The issues in this case arise from the sister’s rebellious behavior and the conflict it is causing with adoptive parents. This child has also showed rebellious behavior, however, adoptive parents remain willing to work with him. Adoptive parents seem to be unwilling to participate in further hearings. The Next Hearing is a Permanency Planning Hearing on 10/13/2020 at 2:00 pmin Courtroom 14.
