This case is a conflict case and requires a pro bono attorney to represent three siblings, ages 2 years to 2 months, who came into DFS care in December 2018, due to their mother having substantial mental health issues, which are not under control. The children were in the home of the maternal grandmother, who had a temporary guardianship, but there were concerns that the mother would revoke the guardianship or leave and there were reports of an injury to one of the children while they were all in grandmother’s home. The youngest child’s father has some concerning criminal history and does not have stable housing. The fathers of the two older children are unknown. The parents have supervised visitation with the children. The children are currently placed together in a foster home. An attorney is needed to represent the children’s wishes and legal rights regarding permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure the appropriate services are in place. There is an Adjudicatory Plea Hearing set for June 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 22.
