Two siblings, ages 14 years and 8 years, came into DFS care in September 2019 with their younger sibling (represented by another attorney) due to allegations of physical injury and neglect. The younger sibling was observed with cuts and bruises on his head, face and back. He reported that his sister had hit him with a hairbrush. The mother was home when the incident occurred, though she was not in the room. There was a prior incident where one of the girls punched their brother in the face twice. Even after the older children’s aggressive behavior began to escalate, the mother has gone against professional advice and continues to leave the children unattended together. There are no family members or fictive kin available to assist with an in-home safety plan or take placement of the children. The fathers’ whereabouts are unknown. Adjudication Trial on 1/24/2020 at 10:00 a.m. CR 22.
