Sibling group of six were removed from their parents’ care over concerns of drug use and homelessness. Initially, CPS was contacted by hospital personnel when the youngest was born substance exposed. The mother admitted to meth use throughout the pregnancy and told CPS she did not plan to care for the baby. CPS later discovered the five older kids living with their father in his truck; he would use meth to stay awake to protect and watch the kids. Three of the children are together in a foster home; three are still on campus. The father is in communication with the Department; the mother has had minimal contact and is reported to be homeless. Next hearing is a Permanency Planning Hearing on 5/20/2020 at 2:30 am in Courtroom 23.
