Case Number: 2019-004570

In Children's Attorneys Project (Abuse/Neglect Cases)

This is a conflict case and requires a pro bono to represent a brother and sister, ages 1 and 3 years, who were taken into protective custody in June 2019, after their mother was arrested for traffic warrants.  Their mother initially left the children with her brother, but he was arrested later for being involved with a stolen vehicle.  At the time of the uncle’s arrest, CPS could not locate their father.  The children are currently in a foster home, and there is an order that they not be separated.  The mother reports getting out of jail soon and wanting the kids back.  Since the removal, CPS located the father, who also wants his children.   These children are in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place.  There is an Adjudicatory Plea Hearing set for July 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 23
