In Children's Attorneys Project (Abuse/Neglect Cases)

This matter is a conflict case for our office and requires a pro bono to represent 2 girls, ages 14 and 12 years of age.  On March 20, 2019 CPS received a report that alleged the father had forced his daughters to take showers with him and gets mad when they refuse to do so.  Dad allows his oldest daughter, who he refers to as “wife” to discipline his younger children. On May 14, 2019, CPS received an intake that the best friend of the oldest child admitted to being molesting by the father in this case and she further explained that she had witnessed molestation to the oldest daughter, starting at age 14.  The oldest child is now an adult and not party to this case with the two younger daughters.  Adult daughter came forward and confirmed she was molested by her father.  These children’s mother has witnessed the molestation and has done nothing to protect them from it.  She continues to stay married to the father.  These children are in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights to permanency, placement, and visitation.  There is an Adjudicatory Plea Hearing set for July 31, 2019 at 9:45 a.m. in Courtroom 11.
