This is a conflict case and requires a pro bono to represent a newborn baby girl who came into DFS care in June 2019 over concerns of domestic violence and lack of housing by her parents. This little girl has an older half -brother, represented by a staff attorney, whose case is headed toward termination of parental rights. While mother and the baby tested negative at the time of birth, the mother does not have a place to stay and will not fully cooperate with the department. Moreover, the mother is allowing the father to be around, knowing the father actively uses drugs. This child is in need of an attorney to represent her legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Disposition Hearing set for July 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Courtroom 23.
