A newborn baby boy came into DFS care in June 2019 when he was removed from his parents’ care over concerns of lack of housing, untreated mental health issues on the part of the mother, and ongoing drug use by the father. The client is with a foster family and doing well. He has three older siblings who live with the maternal grandmother under a guardianship. According to the Department, the grandmother is unwilling to work with the mother. This child is in need of an attorney to represent his legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Disposition Hearing set for July 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Courtroom 23.
