This is a conflict case for our office and requires a pro bono attorney to represent a one month old baby who came into care near the end of April 2019 following allegations of abuse to his siblings. This child’s father is the alleged perpetrator . The explanations of falling and then kidnapping that were provided by the children’s mother are implausible and she cannot provide facts or dates to support her claim. Based on the mothers failure to take an action, such as contacting law enforcement or CPS, and her unwillingness to perform her care giving duties with a protective capacity towards the children, the children were removed from the home. This child is in need of an attorney to represent his legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is an Adjudicatory Plea Hearing set for May 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 20.
