This case is a conflict case and requires a pro bono attorney to represent four siblings, ages 12 years to 9 years of age, who came into DFS care in February 2019 with their three half siblings due to allegations of physical abuse by their father. The children reported that their father would punch and kick them, hit them with a slipper and place them in dark rooms for bad behavior. The children are fearful of their father and have reported that there is not enough food in the home. They also reported their father as being emotionally abusive. While law enforcement was interviewing the children at school, the father picked up two of the children and would not return to the school. He later left the children with a sitter and did not return to pick them up. Further contact with the father has not been established and he reportedly has left the country. The children have been placed with their mother who resides out of state. These children are in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is an Adjudicatory Trial set for May 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 22.
