A newborn baby girl tested positive for meth and opiates at the time of her birth; her mother admitted to using illicit substances on the day she went into labor. Her parents had two other children; they relinquished their rights to those children three years ago. The maternal grandfather and stepmother now have custody of those children. The maternal grandmother is willing to take this baby; however she lives out of state. The parents have expressed a desire and willingness to engage in treatment. An attorney is needed to represent this child’s wishes and legal rights regarding permanency, placement and visitation and to ensure the appropriate services are in place. There is an Adjudicatory Plea Hearing on March 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 23.
