Newborn baby girl was born exposed in utero to methamphetamines on January 29, 2019. The family reports the mother has a long history of meth use, yet the mother claims she’s been sober for 7 years and only used shortly before the baby was born. This little girl suffered withdrawal symptoms after birth, and was removed pursuant to a court warrant. DFS has identified some family members, but nobody has yet to step up to take placement upon discharge from the NICU. This baby needs someone to advocate for her wishes and rights to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Disposition Hearing set for April 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Courtroom 22.
