This case is a conflict case and requires a pro bono attorney to represent a 2 month old baby boy who came into DFS care on February 1, 2019 as mother is unable to perform essential responsibilities. She has cognitive deficits and has displayed a pattern of inadequate care for her newborn children in the past, resulting in their failure to thrive and physical risk. Mother has a substantial history with DFS including one court substantiation, two substantiations, and two un-substantiations. She has 3 other children who were all removed from her care and subsequently adopted. Mother never completed her previous case plans for those children resulting in her termination of parental rights and relinquishment. This child is currently placed with foster care. Mother appears to be participating in proceedings currently. At this time the child is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is an Adjudicatory Plea Hearing set for May 2, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in Courtroom 21.
