This is a conflict case and requires a pro bono attorney to represent an eight year old little girl who came into care with her twelve year old brother on December 27, 2018 because the mother was arrested for child abuse against her the older brother. Her brother is represented by another attorney. Mother states that she no longer wants the older brother and only wants the eight year old girl. The mother has a history of drug abuse and has attempted suicide recently. The siblings want different things regarding permanency; her older brother does not wish to be reunified with his natural parents while the eight year wants to be placed back with her mother. The siblings are currently placed with their maternal grandmother. An attorney is needed to represent the eight year old child’s wishes and legal rights regarding permanency, visitation, and to ensure the appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing set for June 24, 2019 at 2;30 p.m. in Courtroom 23.
