Case Number: 2019-000927

In Children's Attorneys Project (Abuse/Neglect Cases)

Two year old has been in foster care since August 2018, when her mother was arrested.  Her mother was released and tried to make progress on her case plan, but was eventually arrested for violating probation after using illegal drugs.  This child’s current placement is willing to adopt. Her mother will be incarcerated for 18 to 48 months.  At this time, it is unclear whether she can reunify upon release. Mother has an open case with a half sibling, and has not made any progress in that case.  That sibling is on runaway status.  This child was placed with her sibling before the sibling ran away.  This child needs an attorney to represent her legal rights and wishes as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place.  There is a Permanency Planning Hearing set for July 22, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 23.
