Two children, a three year old and a nine month old, came into DFS care on January 23, 2019 after mother was arrested on charges related to fraudulent activities. During the booking process, methamphetamines were found on her person. Mother first came to the attention of DFS when the nine month old was born substance exposed. LA county reports that Mother has had three other children who are not in her care (names unkown) due to similar issues. Father as to the oldest child appeared at the first hearing and may be considered a non-offending parent. Both parents of the older child appear to be engaged with the department. Father as to the youngest child appears to be un-involved at this point. The youngest child is currently placed with maternal aunt. At this time the children are in need of an attorney to represent their wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Disposition Hearing set for March 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. and a Review Hearing set for July 16, 2019 at 2:30 p.m., Both in Courtroom 14.
