A 9 year old girl came into DFS care in January 2019, as a result of her mother’s aggressive and threatening behavior. Her mother threatened by text to kill her brother, in rather graphic detail. When this child was placed with grandparents, the mother came to the house, demanded her children and became so violent that law enforcement became involved. The child’s father resides out of state and due to legal issues is unable to travel. The child has been placed in a foster home as there are no relatives nor fictive kin residing in state that are available or willing to be a placement. An attorney is needed to represent the child’s wishes regarding permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure the appropriate services are in place. There is an Adjudicatory Plea Hearing on February 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 22.
