2 year old child came into DFS care on January 14, 2019 after a hotel security supervisor called police due to reports of an unsupervised baby crying in one of the rooms. They discovered the child in a car seat crying, unsupervised. Mother was located and responded that she had stepped out to smoke a cigarette, though it is reported that security footage shows that she was gone for more than 2 hours. Drug paraphernalia was located in her possessions. Mother has no substantial history with DFS. Father is reported to be in Arizona and there is a temporary restraining order filed in California as a result of domestic violence. The child is currently placed with maternal aunt. At this time the child is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is an Adjudicatory Plea Hearing set for February 7, 2019 at 9:45 a.m. in Courtroom 14.
