In Children's Attorneys Project (Abuse/Neglect Cases)

Three children  (14 year old, 12 year old and a 5 year old) came into DFS care on January 7, 2019 after father was involved in an attempted shooting over the sale of a bicycle, and it was discovered the trailer the family was living in had no food or working utilities. Family has a substantial history with DFS.  The oldest two children were already staying with a maternal aunt at the time of the incident, and the youngest child was subsequently placed with a maternal uncle. Parents were both incarcerated at the time of the initial plea hearing. At this time the children are in need of an attorney to represent their wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Disposition Hearing set for April 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. and a Calendar Call set for April 24, 2019 at 9:45 a.m., Both in Courtroom 14.
