Siblings, 5 year old and 4 year old, were placed into foster care after their father was arrested. Their mother was already incarcerated at the time of his arrest. They were initially living with their grandfather, but he has since returned them to DFS and is unable to take care of them. Their mother has exhausted her opportunities for programming in prison: she has taken multiple parenting classes, obtained her high school diploma, worked her way through the Commitment to Change Program and articulates empathy for her children. She is working with DFS and is engaged however, she is not eligible for release for another year. These children are in need of an attorney to represent their legal rights and wishes as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing set for June 26, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 23.
