15 year old child (who is transgender) is currently at a shelter as a result of the parents not having stable housing. The child’s 17 year old sister is living with her boyfriend, and wishes to have the child live with her once she reaches 18. This child’s mother has issues with substance abuse and is being evicted from her home. The father does not have his own housing, and is facing considerable difficulty with finding assistance due to his criminal background. This child has not expressed fear of either parent to DFS. This child is in need of attorney to represent the child’s wishes and legal rights to permanency, placement, and visitation as well as ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing set for May 15, 2019 at 1:30 p.m., in Courtroom 23.
