A newborn baby girl came into DFS care on January 02, 2019 after testing positive for opiates and amphetamines at birth. Both parents admit to ongoing drug use. Neither parents has CPS history. Grandmother was trying to keep mom clean during the pregnancy but failed. Relative support seems to be available. The child is still in the hospital, NICU, as of now. At this time the child is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing set for June 18, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 14.
